Advocacy

Health, in practice

Ramesh has overcome a host of ailments — sleep apnea, shoulder pain, chronic knee pain, and pre-diabetes — through determination, physiotherapy, and lifestyle modification. His own experience shaped him into a dedicated advocate, committed to helping people find the right support for their health needs.

Years earlier, a heart condition had sent him abroad for care. The specialised equipment he needed could not be found in the region, and it was only through personal connections and persistent asking around that the family located a hospital in Germany that had it. That search — and how difficult it was — planted the seed for Mya Care.

That commitment became Mya Care, which he founded with his family to empower patients and their families to find the right healthcare services worldwide — free for patients, so that advice stays neutral and people are encouraged to seek several opinions before deciding.

Now in his eighties, he leads an active lifestyle: regular walks, simple yoga stretches and pranayama, and a home farm started with his wife.

A theme running through his writing: small, consistent lifestyle changes produce significant improvements in physical and mental health — at any age.
